JAMMU, Nov 12: A two-day exhibition-cum-sale “Urban Nom-ads” was inaugurated today at International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), Jammu centre.
IIFT, a beacon in the field of fashion, provides specialized courses designed for fashion studies with special consideration to cater the requirement of garment industry.
The centre was privileged by the presence of Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, who graced the occasion as chief guest. The exhibition was inaugurated by Kavinder Gupta by cutting the ribbon followed by the lighting of traditional lamp.
“Urban Nomads” defines combination of bright colours, various textures and balanced imperfection. It refers to lifestyle adapted by nomads inspired from urbanization and various cultures.
Students of IIFT brought forward the theme “Urban Nomads” inspired from nomadic culture, bright colours, mixture of earthy shades, florals, flares, silhouettes, appliques, mix-matches, textured fabric and used them as main elements of the collection adopted in style of current trend ramping in street.
Kavinder Gupta was delighted to see the craftsmanship and creativity of the students and was amazed to see immense talent in the youth of Jammu. Kavinder Gupta encouraged the students and staff for their effort, which, he said, has come out beautifully.
Speaking on the occasion, Centre Director said it gives her eternal satisfaction to bring out the talent of students in upfront, which will provide shape and dimension to the students and people of Jammu who are still looking forward to promote professionalism in vast spectrum of fashion and designing world.
