Uproar in LS over detention of former JK CM Farooq Abdullah

NEW DELHI: The first day of the Winter Session in Lok Sabha commenced on a stormy note with Opposition leaders demanding release of detained former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah.
As soon after the obituary references finished, Opposition members from Congress, National Conference and DMK raised the issue of release of the former Jammu and Kashmir CM. The Congress, DMK and National Conference Members entered the well of the House and raised slogans ”we want justice’, ‘Tanashahi nahi chalegi’ (dictatorship will not be accepted) and ‘vipaksh pe hamla bandh karo’ (stop attacking the Opposition).
Earlier, the Lok Sabha commenced by paying tributes to former Union Finance minister Arun Jaitley, former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, Ram Jethmalani and former CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta, who had died in the inter-session. Prior to obituary reference, four new members — Prince Raj (Samastipur Parliamentary constituency, Bihar), Himadri Singh (Shahdol constituency, Madhya Pradesh); Shriniwas Dadasaheb Patil (Satara constituency, Maharshatra and DM Kathir Anand (Vellore constituency, Tamil Nadu)
