Upholding Dogra pride, honour NPP’s sacrosanct pledge: Harsh

CHENANI, July 24: NPP chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh today said that with the baggage of mistrust carried by BJP having become murkier and cumbersome, the people were impatiently waiting for the early announcement of Assembly polls in the state.
Addressing public meetings at Chenani, Basht, Sira and Marothi today Harsh Dev said those who were swayed by the big promises and seductive slogans had seen through the real face of the saffron party and were desperately waiting to teach their mandated leaders a lesson. He said that not only were the people of the region cheated by the BJP over the false promises made by it but were extremely antagonized over the complete disregard for their honour and pride which the Dogras valued more than their lives.
Making a mention of the many compromises made by BJP for power sake during coalition rule including those on Art 370 and 35A, Singh said that herculean efforts would have to be made to strengthen the multiple dents inflicted upon Dogra honour by these self proclaimed champions of Jammu.
“Is there anything more valuable than self pride? And is there anything ghastlier then insult to our honour?” Harsh asserted.
“While FIRs were lodged against Army and CRPF and amnesty granted to anti- nationals and stone-pelters, the BJP and its leaders remained conspicuously silent and tight lipped. The so called champions made one surrender after the other under the smoke screen of national interest during their 3 ½ year rule”, said Harsh.
Pointing towards the lengthy list of compromises made by State BJP on nationalist issues, Singh said its leaders in J&K had caused the greatest disappointment to their own supporters by abandoning its age old principles. He said that several other overtures of BJP included abandonment of Sainik Colony project in Kashmir, shelving of separate KP Township project in Kashmir, re-naming of Hari Parbat as Kohi-e-Maran, Bahu-Fort as Shahbad, introduction of Kashmiri language as a subject in Jammu Colleges, refusal to grant Dogra certificate, compensation to NOKs of stone-pelters and militants, refusal to grant ex-gratia to soldiers martyred while fighting militancy, dilly dally over eviction of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis settled in Jammu, discrimination with Jammu youth in recruitment and so on.p
“Give NPP a chance and we shall prove as true soldiers of Jammu” said Harsh Dev adding that upholding the Dogra pride and honour is the most sacrosanct pledge of Panthers Party.
