United School Teachers Association protests for highlighting demands

KATHUA, Sept 2: On the call of Central Trade Unions, a large number of activists of J&K United School Teachers Association held a strong protest demonstration, here today, under the leadership of provincial president Hari Singh.
They raised slogans against anti-teachers as well as anti-workers policies of the Government and strongly opposed the amendment in the Central Labour Laws. They demanded implementation of Allahabad High Court order regarding admission of children of Government employees in Government schools. They also demanded Rs 15000 as minimum wages per month for all contractual, scheme workers and unregularized ReTs besides restoration of old pension scheme.
While addressing the  gathering, Hari Singh and district president Shashi Paul Singh demanded a high level enquiry in recent transfers made by CEO Kathua, repatriation of those Masters and Lecturers, who have completed their tenure in far-flung areas,  release of pending salary under SSA, RMSA and NPA, regularization of ReTs, who have completed five years of service, adjustment of all Masters, whose DPC was conducted in February 2014, filling up of all vacant posts of teachers in schools, etc.
Others, who addressed the gathering, included Rajeev Kumar, Raj Kumar,  Sham Lal, Sukhdev Singh, Hans Raj, Kishori Lal, Roop Lal, Rattan Chand, Sudesh Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Sanjeev Kumar and Kewal Krishan.
