JAMMU, Oct 23: Terming visit of Union Ministers in Jammu and Kashmir as an eye wash and a strategy to divert public attention from Government’s failure, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asked Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to send its ministers with some funds in hands so that they can redress the public issues in real sense.
Aam Aadmi Party in a press statement said that a number of Union Ministers of Government of India are visiting different districts of J&K under the public outreach campaign of Government of India but this entire show is just an attempt of BJP to divert the attention of public from real ground issues and to do an eye wash.
The Party said that this public outlet campaign is going on from last couple of years but it has remained as a flop show and high expectation of public from these visits have fallen flat.
“A Union Minister is a big post and a Minister has immense political and democratic powers in hands along with funding but ministers visiting in J&K are empty handed which clearly shows that this is just an eye wash and nothing else,” the AAP added.
The Party questioned the visits of Union Ministers while terming it a futile exercise which is another burden on state exchequer as these visits take place in VVIP manner with cavalcade of several vehicles move in fields.
Regarding inauguration of development works, AAP stated that Union Ministers are inaugurating water supply schemes of villages and link roads which on normal days are inaugurated by village Sarpanchs and it shows that Government has stooped low with Union Ministers are pushed on Sarpanch level to befool people.
The AAP said it is going to restart public outreach programme with an approach of solving public grievances and to give separate funding to these ministers to redress public grievances so that sanctity of a post of Union Minister is maintained.
