NEW DELHI, Mar 24: A vision document, the first of its kind, for Janjatis / Scheduled Tribes of India was released here today jointly by Union Ministers Chaudhary Birender Singh, Jual Oram, Dr Jitendra Singh and Prakash Javadekar, along with RSS General Secretary Suresh “Bhaiyaji” Joshi at a function organized by “Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram”, a social organization dedicated to the upliftment of the weaker sections, which was the inspiration behind the preparation of this document.
Suresh “Bhaiyaji” Joshi, who presided over the function, said, there are forces in the country which are hell-bent to divide the society and the most appropriate rebuttal to them is the empowerment of weaker sections of society including Scheduled Tribes. He said, the present government is moving ahead in a definite direction and the positive results of this Government will be visible very soon.
Chaudhary Birender Singh, in his address, referred to several new measures being contemplated by the government for the betterment of Scheduled Tribes. He said, the government is also working on new measures to carry forward this agenda for empowerment of weaker sections of society.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, it is a providential coincidence that the Vision Document for “Janjatis” is being released in quick succession to the laying of foundation stone by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a historic memorial in the memory of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. He said, while the present Government is committed to the upliftment of the lower and the downtrodden, the question is, why the governments, which were in power for over six decades, did not carry forward this responsibility even though it was enshrined to them by the constitution of India.
Taking a dig at those who accuse the Modi Government of favouring the higher strata of society or curbing the freedom of expression, Dr Jitendra Singh said, while Mahatma Gandhi’s self-styled disciples in the form of Congressmen failed to carry forward his dictum of wiping the last tear from the eye of every Indian, it was Deen Dayal Upadhyay who actually carried forward Bapu’s dictum and gave the concept of “Antyoday”, the Mantra for reaching out to the last man in the last queue.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the only way to empower the entire Indian society is to make every section equally empowered and to make every section equally proud of their identity, self-respect and esteem.
Jual Oram in his speech complimented the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram for having produced a Vision Document which his Ministry is contemplating and said that by coming out with this document, they have actually supplemented the efforts being made by his Ministry.
