Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Jan 9: The dead body of an unidentified old man was recovered from Maniram Market area, here today. According to a police spokesperson, the dead body of a beggar aged about 60-65 years was spotted this morning from under the stairs of a commercial building in Maniram Market near City Chowk, where he had taken shelter from the chilly weather. On getting information, City police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, for identification and other legal formalities. According to the police, the beggar appeared to have died due to chilly weather, adding they have started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPc.
