LEH, Nov 23: To highlight their issues, various delegations called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) here today.
A delegation of unemployed veterinarians was led by Abdul Rouf.
Rouf apprised the LG of the recent draft Recruitment Rules for the gazetted post of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon put in the public domain by the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department.
He informed that the current draft rule states that only 85% of the posts would be notified for direct recruitment while 15% would be reserved for in-service employees. He requested that 100% of posts should be notified for direct recruitment.
Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS, stated that the suggestion would be incorporated in the final draft of the Recruitment Rule and submitted to the Committee for due consideration.
The LG assured Rouf and other aspiring candidates to look into the matter.
Smt LdazesAngmo, a delegation of aspiring candidate for the post of Forest Conservator and Range Officer (Grade I), also called on the LG Mishra.
Smt Ldazes apprised the HLG of the notification of the draft Recruitment Rule for the posts of Assistant Conservator of Forest and Forest Range Officer (Grade I) by the Department of Forest Ecology and Environment in the month of October. She suggested the inclusion of reservations for MSc Forestry students for the said posts in the draft recruitment rule.
The HLG instructed the concerned officials to look into the matter and asked them to prevent injustice against anyone.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Chief Engineer of Project Himank, Brig Vishal Srivastava also called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
Brig Vishal and Brig Karki discussed various ongoing projects being implemented by Project Himank in Ladakh.
The LG commended Project Himank for executing various essential development projects in Ladakh.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration efforts between Project Himank and the local administration to work jointly for the development of the region.
The LG stated that efforts are being made by the Administration to develop government schools in Ladakh.
He asked Khirwar to examine the proposal to provide incentives to National Awardee teachers and take appropriate steps in this regard.
Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS and Secretary to HLG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS, were also present in the meeting.
