Unemployed Ayurvedic Doctors warn to come on roads

JAMMU, June 17: Unemployed Ayurvedic Doctors have served 10-days ultimatum to Government for creation of posts for ayurvedic doctor otherwise they will come on roads.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Sahil, president of Unemployed Ayurvedic BAMS Doctors Association said that there is no employment policy for the ayurvedic ISM doctors and the Coalition Government is playing with their career.
He added that the strength of the unemployed BAMS doctors is increasing day-to-day by the Government is not taking any concrete steps for the absorption of the ayurvedic doctors.
“For the past few years, we are listening that the ayurvedic hospital and college is opening but nothing has been done by the Government in this regards”, he alleged.
He demanded opening of ayurvedic hospital so that unemployment could be finished.
He said Primary Health Centres and dispensaries are closed due to lack of doctors, adding that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Health Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din to kindly intervene on this issue otherwise we all ayurvedic doctors will come on streets to protest.
He alleged that in the Government Hospitals the patients are suffering due to shortage of doctors and in the society the ayurvedic doctors are roaming in search of jobs.
He urged the Director Dr Kabir Dass and NRHM Director Yash Pal to intervene in the matter and take immediate steps. Directorate of ayurvedic should be separated at the earliest, he demanded.
