JAMMU, Dec 29: All J&K unemployed agriculture youth today held a protest at SKUAST Jammu against SRO-442 which has closed all doors for direct recruitment.
The youth demanded to revoke the SRO-442 as soon as possible as this SRO mentions that the posts of Junior Agriculture Extension Officers will be filled 100 per cent on promotional basis which otherwise was on 60:40 per cent basis (60 percent by direct recruitment and 40 percent by promotion) thereby, leaving the unemployed professionals high and dry.
They requested the Government to amend SRO 442 to its original form (60:40 ratio) for JAEO posts and maintain the 50:50 ratio for AEO’s which was rule prior to 2004 and also urged to refer all the posts lying vacant in the APD to the PSC and SSRB for fast track recruitment.
The youth later met Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and handed over a memorandum to him.
