POONCH, June 14: Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today  charged PDP-BJP combine for plunging Jammu and Kashmir into uncertainty and said their inherent contradictions can lead to unprecedented political crisis.
“Apart from failing on administrative front,  the coalition partners have not been able to give a matured political leadership to this sensitive State”, Mr Rana said while addressing a day long delegate convention in the border town of Poonch.
He said the PDP and BJP, which publicly take pride in boasting of being poles apart ideologically, have no meeting ground and both are working at cross purposes. Instead of solving the problems confronted to the State, they are playing to galleries and addressing to own political constituencies. As a result, the Government has lost its credibility and the administration its efficacy due to leadership deficit. The end sufferers remain the people, who find themselves at the cross roads, he maintained.
Mr Rana exhorted the party functionaries and the grass roots level workers to remain in readiness for any political development in near future. “The unnatural combination cannot carry the baggage of contradictions anymore”, he said, adding that the National Conference has to gear up for big challenge in the ensuing months. He said power has never been the destination of the party, which he described as a mass movement.
Referring to massive Srinagar rally led by Working President Omar Abdullah, the Provincial President described it as open feedback of the people to over hundred days of misgovernance and maladministration. “PDP and BJP should read writing on the wall on the face of historic ‘public resistance rally’, first of such kind in the past over twenty five years and it should serve as an ultimatum to the Government for failing Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
“The people of Jammu will also announce their verdict on June 16 when National Conference will hold a massive protest rally in the winter capital in protest against misgovernance”, Mr Rana said, adding that the people of the three regions of the State have finally united to negate the anti-people, anti-youth, anti-development and anti-peace combination of two warring parties which have joined together just for lust of power. He said the PDP-BJP duo stands exposed for its duplicity and insincerity towards the people.
The day long delegate convention was addressed by State Vice Presidents Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Th Kashmira Singh, former Deputy Chairman Legislative Council and MLA Javed Rana, former MLA Ajaz Jan and senior party leaders addressed the Convention.
Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari castigated the PDP-BJP combine for letting the people down by failing in responding to their developmental aspirations. He said the administration has lost the grit and drive to serve the people, especially those living in far off and border areas.
In a scathing criticism of PDP-BJP coalition for failing on all fronts, Th Kashmira Singh the gains of the Omar led Government during the past six years have been undone in just over three months. He warned that the Government should not test the patience of people.
MLA Javed Rana said the Coalition Government is suffering from performance inertia, as a result of which the people are faced with numerous problems. Instead of solving these, the two parties were generating controversies thus pushing the real issues into backburner.
During the convention,   Syed Mujaid Hussain Shah Baji joined the National Conference. Mr Rana and other senior leaders welcomed his joining and hoped this will further strengthen the party at the grass roots level.
