The State Government recently gave extension to Chief Secretary B B Viyas for the second time. The State Government has done such a deed many times earlier also by giving extension to the highest executives keeping in view their good performance and good service record. Such kind of action give boost to the officers while others emulate this action by rendering good and satisfactory service. On the whole, it makes administration good and satisfactory. On the contrary, the Chief Secretary of Delhi Government was manhandled by law makers and humiliated him beyond limit and that too, in the presence of Chief Minister Kejriwal and perhaps this has happened for the first time in the country. When this has happened to the holder of the highest post what do the lower rank officers expect ? Such happenings do not auger well in a democratic dispensation. The case should be got thoroughly investigated and the culprits punished severely within the parameters of law so that no such incident takes place any longer.
