JAMMU, Feb 17: A three- week long UGC Refresher Course in Library and Information Science began today in Department of Library and Information Science.
JU Registrar Prof Manoj Dhar, formally inaugurated the course, which is being conducted by the Academic Staff College, JU.
Around twenty college and university Library and Information professionals are attending the course.
Prof Sangita Gupta Head, Department of Library and Information Science and the Coordinator of the Course, discussed the need of such courses for the Society.
Prof Rajender Gupta, Director Academic Staff College emphasized the importance of such courses for updating the knowledge of Librarians.
Pramod K Singh, Assistant Professor conducted proceedings of the inaugural function.
Dr Seema Lalothre, another faculty of the department, presented vote of thanks.
