JAMMU, Mar 31: J&K Unemployed and Under Employed Government Emplo-yees Association (UEGEA) has criticized the Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather for his remarks and justification given in the Legislature regarding 50% pay being given to the newly recruited non- gazetted employees in the State.
They criticized the Government for providing fixed salary for first five years and rubbished the claim of the Government that it is being done in view of financial crunch. They pointed out that on one hand Government claims that there was financial crush while on the other hand it enhanced the sitting allowance of the Legislators from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 and declared to increase Medical allowance of Legislators to Rs 5000 per month. They said it was great injustice to the unemployed youth and also those being recruited under the new policy of providing 50% of the basic pay for two years and ten 75 % in next three years.
They strongly opposed the policy and asked the Government to review the same. The Association resolved to fight for justice in this regard. They also sought the intervention of NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah in this regard. They also decided to submit a memorandum to former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, State BJP chief Jugal Kishore Sharma and NPP chairman Harshdev Singh, Balwant Singh Makotia and CPI (M) leader Mohd Yousuf Tarigami.
