JAMMU, July 26: The chief of United Democratic Party (UDP), Jammu today succumbed to his injuries, which he suffered in an alleged road mishap occurred in the jurisdiction of police station Gandhi Nagar.
According to police sources, the UDP chief namely Kuldeep Singh son of Santok Singh, resident of House No 143, Basant Vihar, Trikuta Nagar, was injured in an alleged road mishap that took place yesterday within the limits of police station Gandhi Nagar.
They said the UDP chief was shifted to Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar for treatment and later he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 7.40 pm today.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem tomorrow while Gandhi Nagar police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
Meanwhile, family members and kin of the deceased have alleged that Kuldeep has been murdered. Police sources further said that a board of doctors will conduct the postmortem of the deceased tomorrow to ascertain the exact reason behind the death of the deceased.
