Udhampur to be pilot distt for implementation of NFSA: Zulfkar

UDHAMPUR, Sept 11:- Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution and Tribal Affairs, Ch. Zulfkar Ali reviewed the working of CAPD, Legal Metrology and Tribal Affairs Department in a meeting convened at DC office, here today.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues which mainly include supply position of CA&PD food grains, distribution and  dispatch of ration, status of gas agencies , RGGLV scheme, digitization of ration forms, DBTL enrolment,  establishment of  grievance cell,  socio economic conditions of the tribal population in the district, working of Gujjar & Bhakerwal Hostel and Legal Metrology etc.
During the meeting, the Minister said that Government is committed to provide corruption free, transparent and accountable administration to the people of the state.
Minister directed DDC Udhampur Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary to rationalize the scale of distribution of ration & k.oil and to maintain uniform scale of ration per family throughout the district and to make a comprehensive plan for the distribution of ration and development of tribal people.
Mr. Zulfkar asked the DDC to ensure 100 percent linkage of ADHAAR number with ration cards in the district, adding that Udhampur will be the pilot district for implementation of National Food Security Act from December 1, 2015.
He instructed AD CA&PD to provide prior information to DDC before receiving and distribution of any ration and k.oil supply in the district. Minister immediately suspended TSO Ramnagar, Bashir and attached him to Directorate office Jammu for three month ration lapse at Ramnagar and instructed Director CA&PD   G S Chib to restore the pending ration to Ramnagar tehsil with in three days.
Minister constituted a committee with ADC as chairman for inspecting last three year ration distributed in the district. He directed DDC to fix the head load carriage charges for ration in the district. He instructed Director CA&PD and Deputy Director CA&PD to inspect the office record of AD CA&PD and submit report to him within three days and if record was found unavailable, lodge of FIR against the concerned AD CA&PD of that period.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary gave a brief over view of the developmental activities of the district. He also assured the minister that within ten days display of boards will be done at each FPS in the district.
