Udhampur teacher conferred with National Teachers’ Award

UDHAMPUR, Sept 5: As India is celebrating the Teachers’-Day, President Ram Nath Kovind today felicitated 47 teachers of the country with the National Teachers’ Award-2020 in a virtual ceremony.
Sunil Kumar, a teacher of Government Middle School, Jakhar of district Udhampur was among those conferred with the prestigious National Teachers’ Award. Sunil Kumar has been honoured with the award for his phenomenal work of building up foundational literacy & numeracy in school by coming up with low-cost teaching ways.
The National Teachers’ Award is conferred for the extraordinary contribution of teachers in the field of education by improving the quality of education and bringing a evident difference in the life of his students.
Every year the ceremony is held physically, but due to Covid pandemic, the award ceremony was conducted virtually.
The District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla handed over the prestigious National award to Sunil Kumar and congratulated him for his extraordinary and meritorious efforts in the field of education sector.
Further, the DDC extended his warm greetings to the whole teaching fraternity of the District on auspicious occasion of Teachers’ day. The DDC applauded the phenomenal work of Sunil Kumar in building up foundational literacy & numeracy in school by coming up with low-cost teaching ways.
