JAMMU, Sept 22: Uday Chib has been elected as State president of Youth Congress as results of the organizational election were announced today.
He secured highest votes (4955) and became the second elected State president of Pradesh Youth Congress, J&K.
Pankaj Basotra secured second highest votes (3414) and thus elected for the post of State vice president while Chetan Wanchoo was elected for the post of general secretary by securing 900 votes/
Total seven candidates had filed their nomination for the post of State president Youth Congress. Sahil Sharma got 1692 votes, Amir Rasool 523, Mir Iqbal 321 and Murnaz got 128 votes.
Earlier Uday Chib has remained first elected State president NSUI J&K and after successfully completed his tenure, he was made national general secretary NSUI J&K and remained Incharge of several States.
It may be recalled that in 2008, AICC president Rahul Gandhi had introduced internal democracy in NSUI and Youth Congress throughout country. Youth Congress elections were held in J&K for the first time in 2011 when Shahnawaz Choudhray was elected as State president PYC J&K.
