KARGIL, July 8: District Police Kargil has arrested 2 bootleggers and recovered around 60 liters of country made liquor from their procession from Megawatt area of Kargil here today.
Acting on specific information from reliable sources about two ladies selling and possessing illicit liquor, the police party of Police Station Kargil apprehended two suspected ladies identified as Dulimaya wife of Maan Singh of ward number five Dading Nepal, at present Megawatt Kargil and Beena Singh Thakur wife of Mahender Singh Thakur, resident of village Surkhet Nepal at present Megawatt Kargil.
Police said during checking approximately 60 litres of illicit liquor was recovered which they had kept in their illegal possession and was selling the same to others in order to gain illegitimate profit.
Police said all the recovered illicit liquor was seized and both the ladies were arrested. In this regard a case FIR number 34/2023 under Section 48 Excise Act, FIR no. 35/2023 under Section 48 Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kargil. The District Police Kargil appealed to the general public to come forward with any information regarding selling of illicit liquor, drug peddlers in the district.
