JAMMU, Mar 26: Two women allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves in their respective residences falling under the jurisdiction of Kanachack Police Station.
As per police sources, a woman identified as Monika Devi (23), wife of Jyoti Prakash allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her residence in Kullaen area of Tehsil Marh District Jammu.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for autopsy, which will be conducted tomorrow.
Meanwhile, another woman identified as Gita Devi (56), wife of Sohan Lal also allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Kangrail area of Tehsil Bhalwal District Jammu.
After conducting post-mortem, the body of the deceased lady has been handed over to family members for last rites.
Inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Kanachack Police in both the cases.
