JAMMU, Apr 16: Belicharana Police arrested two vehicle lifters and recovered two stolen motorcycles from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team led by Incharge Belicharana Police Post SI Hazara Singh laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BX-4818.
On being asked to produce the documents of the vehicle, the rider and the pillion rider failed to give satisfactory explanation. On detailed questioning, it came to light that the motorcycle was stolen from Sarwal and a case under FIR Number 64/19 under section 379 RPC stands registered with Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
Both the rider and pillion rider identified as Mohammad Rafi, son of Mohd Qazi of Gujjar Basti, Belicharana, Jammu and Mohammad Akri, son of Mohammad Qazi of Kharian, Gole Gujral, Jammu were arrested. On their disclosure, another stolen motorcycle bearing registration number JK21B-3670 was also recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
