JAMMU, July 16: Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan police station today arrested two thieves and recovered cash and mobile phones, belonging to the pilgrims, which had been stolen by them.
The thieves have been identified as Rakesh Keshav, 19, son of Munshi Lal R/o Nishadganz, Lucknow and Vicky Kumar, 23, son of Tilak Ram R/o Patel Nagar, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.
Recoveries made from them included Rs 23,741 cash, one Samsung mobile handset, one Xolo mobile handset and some clothes.
The thieves had stolen all these items from pilgrims.
Police would return items to yatris after identifying them and completing legal formalities.
A case against accused has been registered under Section 379 RPC at Bhawan police station.
The accused were arrested by Bhawan police station team headed by SHO Rajesh Sharma under supervision of SSP Reasi Sujit Kumar.
