Two thieves arrested with stolen items worth several lakhs

JAMMU, Oct 19: Gangyal Police arrested two thieves and recovered stolen items worth several lakhs from their possession.
As per police sources, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Gangyal by a person namely Uttam Dass of Baba Fareed Nagar Sehora regarding theft of the gold ornaments from his house.
Similarly, another complaint was lodged by another person namely Surinder Singh, son of Gurmukh Singh of Sehora Kunjwani regarding theft of some valuable items from his house.
Acting over the complaints, cases FIR Numbers 147/2021 and 154/2021 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC were registered respectively at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Gangyal led by SHO Inspector Pardeep Kumar Sharma and assisted by PSIs Amit Roshan, Sanjeev Sharma and Iahtashm ul Haq was constituted under the supervision of SDPO South PK Mengi.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of analysis of CCTV footages of the area finally rounded up two suspects namely Tushar Sharma, son of Kamal Sharma of Shanti Nagar Kunjwani and Iqvinder Singh, son of Manjeet Singh of Shiv Nagar Jogi Mohalla Bandhurakh, Jammu.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the above cases and on their disclosure stolen items including Rs 30,000 cash, gold items worth around Rs 2 lakh and other valuable items worth around Rs 2 lakh.
Further questioning of the arrested thieves is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
