Two thieves’ arrested, stolen gold, household items worth Rs 5 lakh recovered

JAMMU, Aug 5: Gangyal Police arrested two thieves and recovered stolen gold ornaments and household items worth Rs 5 lakh from their possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a person namely Bansi Lal, son of Dhani Ram of Nagrota, at present Shiv Nagar, Jogi Mohalla District Jammu with Police Station Gangyal stating that some unknown person(s) entered into his house and decamped with gold ornaments and other items.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 62/2022 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, two accused persons namely Vivek Sharma, son of Kedar Nath of Nougran Bishnah and Atish Jangral, son of Ashok Kumar of Kotli Mian Fateh Bishnah were arrested and they confessed their involvement in case.
On their disclosure, 6 tolas gold ornaments and household items including one washing machine, 1 LED, 1 inverter, 1 transformer, 3 motors, 1 battery and 8 bags of rice worth Rs 5 lakh were recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal Inspector Joginder Singh Chib made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO City South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma.
