RAMBAN, Sept 7: Police here today arrested four thieves and solved two theft cases and the stolen property was also recovered.
As per Police, on September 2, 2025, a complaint was lodged by one Ghulam Nabi at Police Station Banihal regarding theft of two sheep.
Accordingly, a case in FIR No. 93/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered.
In another case, on September 4, 2025 a complaint was lodged by one Nisar Ahmed Wani regarding theft of welding set, gen set, Halti machine and 11 iron sheets and a case in FIR No. 94/2025 was registered under relevant sections of law.
Acting swiftly, cops of Police Station Banihal apprehended the suspect in the first case identified as Bilal Ahmed Sheikh, resident of Thajiwara, Achabal, Anantnag.
During interrogation he admitted his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, 2 stolen sheep were recovered and the vehicle used for commission of offence was also seized.
The cops during investigation of the case of FIR No. 94 of 2025 rounded up several suspects and on the basis of technical assistance and human intelligence finally rounded up 3 suspects Jaffer Shah, Muzaffar Shah, both resident of Chamalwas, Banihal and Abdul Latif resident of Thachi Banihal.
These suspects admitted their involvement in the crime and on their disclosures stolen items worth Rs. 2,23000 were recovered.
The arrests and recoveries were made by cops led by SHO Banihal, PSI Manmeet Singh and PSI Javed under the supervision of SDPO Banihal.
