RAJOURI, Jan 20: The police apprehended two youth roaming under suspicious circumstances in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district today.
A police spokesman said that both of them were roaming under suspicious circumstances, wearing mysterious masks. He said keeping in view the Pran Pratishtha program to be held in Ayodhya on Monday and the upcoming Republic Day, the security system in Rajouri district has been put on high alert.
The Police team led by SHO Thannamandi Inspector Hilal Azhar saw both the youth wearing masks and roaming around the passenger vehicles in Thannamandi under suspicious circumstances and nabbed them. They were taken into custody and placed under interrogation.
They are identified as Wajid Zaman, son of Mohd Zaman and Yasir Mehmood, son of Mohd Akbar, both residents of Manyal Gali in Thanamandi. They have been detained under preventive custody.
