JAMMU, Mar 4: Gandhi Nagar police today arrested two notorious criminals with two country made pistols and four live cartridges.
“During naka checking at Valmiki Chowk, a police party from Gandhi Nagar police station intercepted one motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AW-0623 and on frisking one country made pistol along with 02 live cartridges each were recovered from the possession of bike rider Deepak Kumar alias Dhani son of Yashpal, and his other associate namely Shubam Kumar alias Shibu son of Des Raj, both residents of Tanda (RS Pura),” a police official said.
He said in this connection a case FIR No 59/2019 U/S 3/25 Arms Act was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and both the accused were arrested and their weapons and catridges seized. He said the arrested persons are hardcore criminals and involved in a number of cases of attempt to murder, stabbing, keeping/possessing illegal arms etc.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Sunil Jasrotia.
