Two Nepali women among five arrested with illicit liquor

KARGIL, Oct 22: Police arrested five persons including two Nepali women along with large quantity of illicit liquor bottles from Kabadi Nallah and Baimathang areas, falling under the jurisdiction of Kargil police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Kargil police station conducted raids in some ‘dhabas’ at Kabadi Nallah and Baimathang areas. During the raid, police recovered 574 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested five persons on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Roshan Dass, son of Bansi Lal of district Kishtwar, Budha Bhadur, son of Durga Bahadur, Dando Sharpa, son of Nima Dorjey, Kumari Tamang, wife of Soom Bhadur and Kanchi Tamang, wife of Budhi Tamand, all residents of Nepal.
A case under FIR Number 75/15, 76/15, 77/15, 78/15 and 79/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act have been registered against the accused at Kargil police station and investigation started.
Police team led by DySP Headquarters Abdul Khalid along with SHO Kargil police station Motup Tashi made the arrests under the supervision of SP Kargil Rahul Malik.
