SAMBA, Mar 2: Two minor girls from nomadic Bakerwal community were found dead from a water body in Lower Birpur area here.
Tahira (10) daughter of Parvez Gujjar and Asiya Jaan (8) daughter of Manzoor Gujjar, both residents of Anantnag, went missing around 2 pm on March 1 while grazing their animals, said a police official.
He said after intense search, the parents of the missing girls approached police for help today when they failed to locate them, he said.

During the search, police recovered the bodies of the missing girls from a water body at Balol Khad, Lower Birpur area, he said.
After performing the legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased girl children have been handed over to their legal heirs while as inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the cause of their death, added the police official.
