Two Ministers to be elevated

JAMMU, Mar 12: Two Ministers of State with Independent Charge from the BJP were likely to be elevated as Cabinet Ministers in the PDP-BJP coalition Government before the budget session.
According to official sources, Minister of State with Independent Charge of Tourism, Abdul Ghani Kohli and Minister of State with Independent Charge of Cooperatives Chering Dorjey, both from BJP, were likely to be elevated as Cabinet Ministers before the budget session.
Governor NN Vohra will administer them the oath of office and secrecy.
Following elevation of two Ministers of State (MoS) as Cabinet Ministers, some changes in the portfolios of Ministers were also expected. The portfolios Dorjey and Kohli were holding as MoS (excepting Independent charge) were likely to be delegated among the remaining six Ministers of State.
Some changes were also expected in the portfolio of Animal Husbandry Minister Sajjad Ghani Lone, who is the Minister from the BJP quota.
With two elevations, strength of Cabinet Ministers would go up to 19 including the Chief Minister. Presently, there were 17 Cabinet Ministers-11 from PDP (including the CM) and six from BJP (including Sajjad Lone). With this, strength of BJP Cabinet Ministers will go up to eight.
There will be six Ministers of State-three each from PDP and BJP.
