Two killed in road mishaps

JAMMU, Oct 7: Two persons were killed in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a pedestrian identified as Prithvi Singh (70) son of Tara Singh, resident of Khanpur, got serious injuries when he was hit by an unknown vehicle at Khanpur last night. He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries today morning.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Nagrota police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
Similarly, a woman pedestrian identified as Girja Saproo (52) wife of Jai Krishan Saproo, resident of House No 321, Muthi, sustained serious injuries this afternoon when a rashly driven bike hit her at Lower Roop Nagar while she was going to purchase some vegetables from a nearby shop.
The injured woman was immediately rushed to GMCH Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased woman was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem to be conducted tomorrow.
In this connection, a case FIR No 311/2017 under Sections 279/304-A RPC was registered at police station Domana and further investigations were underway
