Two killed in bike-scooty collision

JAMMU, May 25: Two persons were killed and as many injured in the collision of a bike and a scooty in Gandhi Nagar area.
“The mishap occurred around midnight of May 24 near Government Women College, Gandhi Nagar on National Highway,” a police official said, adding in the mishap, four persons received serious injuries.
He said they were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where one of them namely Akash Kumar (24) son of Ramesh Lal, resident of Kunjwani, was declared as brought dead by the doctors while another youth namely Abdul Rehman son of Mohd Ali, resident of Burma (at present Bathindi, Jammu) succumbed to his injuries this morning.
The official said other two injured persons identified as Sunny Chib (26) son of Pritam Singh, resident of Kunjwani (Ekta Vihar) and Ashok Rawat (30) son of Tham Singh, resident of Uttrakhand (at present Gandhi Nagar, Jammu) were responding to the treatment.
“A case in this connection was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigations started while the scooty (registration number JK02BJ-4851) and the bike (registration number JK02BD-5729) involved in the mishap were seized,” he added.
