JAMMU, Nov 5: Two persons were killed, while, fourteen others were injured in road mishaps at different locations.
Police spokesman said that, a Tata sumo bearing registration number JKO2AL-4076, skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge at Rattanbas area of district Ramban.
Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the duo to Sub-District Hospital, Banihal, where doctors declared driver of the vehicle identified as Azhar Din, son of Sher Din of Ramsoo, as brought dead.
The injured Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Sharif of Ramban, was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
In another incident, Babu Ram, son of Panju Ram of Sunderbani, was seriously injured, after being hit by an unknown truck in Chowki Choura area of tehsil Akhnoor.
He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, eleven persons were injured, when the Tata Magic vehicle they were traveling in turned turtle near Dalori area of district Rajouri.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK11-0126, was on its way to Dalori from Rajouri, when it met with an accident, causing grievous injuries to eleven persons.
All the injured persons were shifted to district hospital, where they were responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
A case has been registered and manhunt was on to nab the driver of the vehicle, who fled from the spot.
In another incident, two minor girls were seriously injured, when a speedy Alto car hit them and later tuned turtle in Harni Chowk of tehsil Mendhar.
The two sisters namely Sabina Kouser and Rabina Kouser of Duma-Harmuta, were going home from school, when the accident took place.
The duo was shifted to Mendhar Hospital, from where Sabina Kouser, was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), for advance treatment.
The driver of the Alto car identified as Raja, son of Mohd Nazim Khan of Gursai, fled from the spot, while, police has registered the case and started investigation.
