LEH, Feb 18: Two Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) of the Army were killed after a puffed water tank exploded in Ladakh, officials said.
Subedar Santosh Kumar (46) and Naib Subedar Sunil Kumar (36) died after a 3000 litre swollen water tank exploded in a camp at Nyoma area on Sunday, some 150 kilometres from Leh in southern Ladakh, they said.

Both army officers were survived by their wives and two children, they said.
The officials further said that police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Suchindra Kumar and General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps have saluted the supreme sacrifice of the fallen soldiers.
“Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar and all ranks of Dhruva Command salute the supreme sacrifice of bravehearts Sub Santosh Kumar and Nb Subedar Sunil Kumar who laid down their lives in the line of duty in Ladakh. The Dhruva Command stands firm with the bereaved families in this hour of grief,” wrote Northern Command on X, while sharing a post of Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps.
In its post on X, the Fire and Fury Corps wrote, “GOC, Fire and Fury Corps and all ranks salute Subedar Santosh Kumar and Naib Subedar Sunil Kumar, who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in Ladakh on February 16, 2025 and offer deep condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grief.”
