Two inter-state narco smugglers held with poppy straw

JAMMU, Jan 14: Bus-Stand police today arrested two inter-state narcotic smugglers along with poppy straw here.
As per police sources, on some reliable information, police team from Bus-Stand police station intercepted two persons on suspicious grounds, who were waiting for bus near SRTC counter.
During checking, police found 16.50 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in two plastic bags and arrested the accused.
The accused have been identified as Gurmail Raj, son of Sodagir Singh of Ludhiana and Kuldeep Singh, son of Karam Singh of Gurdaspur, Punjab.
A case under FIR number 2/15 under Section 8/15/16 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bus-Stand police station Inspector Bhushan Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of DySP City Perbeet Singh, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
