Srinagar, Apr 19: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested two Insurance officers while accepting bribe for settling an insurance claim of a dead person.
An official said that the two insurance officers including a lady were arrested while accepting bribe of Rs 2 lakhs in Pratap Park area of Lal Chowk in Srinagar for settling a personal accident insurance claim of a deceased customer, who died in a road accident in January 2020.
The insurance officers have been identified as Senior Divisional Manager National Insurance Company Limited, RK Goyal and Administrative Officer of the Company, Nahida Gaffar wife of Bilal Ahmad, resident of Sector 1, Umar Abad HMT Srinagar.
A case under relevant Sections of law has been registered at CBI office in Srinagar and further investigation has been initiated in the matter.
