Two injured in Pak shelling

JAMMU: Two people were injured today when Pakistani troops resorted to shelling and firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri and Poonch districts.

“Two civilians have been injured in Pakistani shelling along LoC in Mendhar sector of Poonch district today,” Inspector General of Police Johny William said.

He said the injured have been hospitalized.

There was firing and shelling along LoC in Balakote and Mankote areas of Mendhar tehsil late in the afternoon, he said.

Earlier, Pakistani troops resorted to shelling along LoC in Bhimbher Gali sector of Rajouri district today.

“There was unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in BG sector from 1230 hours today,” Defence PRO said.

They fired automatic weapons and 82 mm mortar bombs, he said, adding it was responded to befittingly by Indian troops. (AGENCIES)
