Two Indians taken captive by IS insurgents in Yemen

NEW DELHI: Two Indians are reported to have been taken captive by IS insurgents in Yemen.

The captives, Pravesh Ranjan Samal and Ramamurthy Kosanam, who were working in Serte town of the war-torn country, hail from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh respectively.

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas swarup said here the Indian Mission in Tripoli was making further inquiries for confirmation of the incident and was in touch with the local people, who can help in secure release of their two nationals.

”The matter has also been taken up at diplomatic level,” he said. All efforts were being made to ensure the well-being and secure early release of the India nationals, the spokesperson said. (AGENCIES)
