Two Health employees suspended for corruption

JAMMU, July 30: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kathua Dr Ashok Chaudhary has suspended two employees deputed at COVID post Lakhanpur on allegations of corruption.
The suspended officials are Raj Kumar (Lab Technician), originally posted at PHC Ramkote and Rohit Mehra (Junior Pharmacist), originally posted at SC Dhanu Parole. Both the officials were on special COVID duty at Lakhanpur.
The action against them came after Kathua police caught them red handed demanding money from the passengers at sample collection centre, Lakhanpur in lieu of test reports to the passengers. Both the employees were demanding money from passengers to issue COVID negative reports (which is mandatory for any visitor to enter J&K) to them.
While the Kathua police are investigating the case, the CMO ordered suspension of both the officials, and constituted an enquiry committee to probe the corruption allegations against them.
