JAMMU, Apr 18: Two persons including a lady committed suicide by hanging themselves at their respective residence in city outskirts.
According to police spokesperson, a 32-year-old woman identified as Zarin Begum wife of Mohd Yousuf, a resident of Assam, at present residing in Kalaka Colony in Bagh-e-Bahu area, was reportedly found hanging this morning at her jhuggi by her husband, who along with others were going to cremate her without informing the police.
“On getting information from locals, police reached the spot, took the body of the woman in custody and shifted it to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for post mortem”, he said, adding a case under 174 CrPC was registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu, as police found some strangulation marks on the neck of the deceased.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Rattan Lal (44) son of Gaga, a resident of Ganeshuchak in Phalain Mandal area, also committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence, early this morning. After completing all medico-legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station and investigations were underway.
