JAMMU, Jan 2: Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered large quantity of intoxicants from their procession in Shakti Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar Police Station.
A police spokesman said that, police party from Bakshi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Dileep Singh laid a naka near cremation ground, Shakti Nagar and intercepted two persons moving suspiciously.
During checking, police recovered 41 bottles of corex and 729 intoxicant capsules from their possession, which they were carrying illegally.
The drug peddlers identified as Suresh Sharma, son of Bhola Nath and Rakesh Sharma, son of Paras Ram Sharma, both residents of Jogwan Pallanwala, tehsil Akhnoor were arrested.
A case under FIR number 2/14 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation started.
