Two drug peddlers held with heroin

SAMBA, Feb 14: In a major success, Samba police today seized 270 grams of heroin from two narcotic smugglers, who were on way from Jammu towards Samba for further distribution of the consignment among the drug addicts.
According to the report, the consignment was being smuggled in a Hyundai i-20 Car which was on its way from Jammu to Samba and it was intercepted at NHW Mansar Morh.
During the naka checking at National Highway near Mansar Morh a police party of Police Station, Samba stopped Hyundai i-20 Car bearing Registration No. JK02BX 9667 and on checking of the vehicle it recovered 270 grams of heroin which was concealed in the vehicle with an intent to sell it among the youth of the area. The police seized the consignment, car and arrested the two persons.
They have been identified as Sandeep Sharma @ Kamal Kishore @ Sandy S/o Makhan Lal R/o near Shiv Mandir Indra Nagar R.S Pura, Jammu and Javed Iqbal, S/o Mir Hussain R/o Saranu, Dhangri, district Rajouri. In this connection, a case FIR Number 31/2020, under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Samba and further investigation of the case is taken up.
District Police Samba has appealed to the general public to inform about the drugs smuggling and consumption of the same in their area to assist the police in its efforts to eradicate the menace of the drugs from the society. The identity of the informant will be kept secret, police said.
The drive against the drug peddlers has been launched in the district under the supervision of SSP, Samba, Shakti Pathak and Additional SP Faisal Qureshi.
