Two drug peddlers held

SRINAGAR, Oct 7: Police today said it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered poppy straw from their possession in north Kashmir’s Pattan area of Baramulla district.
A police spokesman said police established a naka at Baba Teng along National Highway in Pattan. “During the naka checking, two persons identified as Tariq Ahmad Sofi and Mohammad Rajab were intercepted,” he said, adding that on checking, 10 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from them.
Police has registered a case under FIR number 259/2016 under Section 8/15 NDPS and investigation was taken up, the spokesman added.
