UDHAMPUR, Jan 21: Police arrested two inter-district drug peddlers and recovered more than 51 grams of heroin from their possession, here today.
Police team of Police Station Udhampur while conducting naka checking intercepted one car bearing registration number JK01AT-7571, coming from Jammu towards Srinagar for checking purpose. During questioning, two persons sitting in the vehicle disclosed their identities as Saqib Haneed Dar, son of Abdul Hameed Dar of Sheikhpora, Srinagar and Faisal Lateef Rather, son of Mohd Latief Rather of Hyderpora, Srinagar.
On their personal search, 51.59 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession following which the duo was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, case FIR No. 22/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and investigation of the case has been taken up.
