JAMMU, Apr 4: Two drug-peddlers were arrested today.
According to the police, during a regular naka checking at Khuga Morh, Akhnoor, one Alto car bearing Regd. number JMU-BJ-0858 was signaled to stop for checking.
During checking of the vehicle, charas weighing 800 grams in the shape of ‘challies’ (42 in number) was recovered from his possession.
Accused namely Ajeet Bali son of Pishori Lal Bali resident of Ward number- 7, Sunderbani, tehsil Rajouri was arrested.
A case FIR number 58/2016 Under Section 8/20 /21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Akhnoor.
The seizure was made by a team led by Pushpinder Singh, SHO Police Station, Akhnoor and along with a team from Kanachak Police Station.
The accused is being questioned to unravel the drug network he belongs to.
Meanwhile, another drug peddler namely Munir Ahmed son of Abdul Hamid resident of Kot Bhalwal was arrested and recovered 40 grams of charas, today.
The arrest was made under the close supervision of SDPO Gandhinagar, and SP South Jammu, Shahzad Salaria.
The drive against drug peddlers, under operation Sanjeevani was launched by SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta wherein police party from Gandhi Nagar headed by SHO P S Gandhi Nagar, Mir Imtiyaz assisted by Javed Choudhary arrested the drug peddler.
In this connection case FIR number 78/2016 Under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
