Two die of COVID, 540 test +ve in J&K; 131 new cases in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 11: Two persons died of COVID-19 and 540 persons tested positive in Jammu and Kashmir today while the Union Territory of Ladakh reported 131 new cases.
Both casualties were recorded in Kashmir where 228 fresh cases were reported while Jammu region registered 312 cases.
Among 312 cases in Jammu, 131 were reported from Jammu district, 61 in Doda, 36 Ramban, 27 Kathua, 22 Udhampur, 12 Reasi, nine Rajouri, seven Samba, six Poonch and one in Kishtwar district.
Three persons tested positive for COVID-19 at Civil Secretariat.
However, as against 312 cases, 682 infected persons recovered from the virus bringing down further the number of active positive cases to 2918.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 131 COVID positive cases including 97 in Leh district and 34 in Kargil.
Active positive cases in Ladakh now stood at 670—480 in Leh and 190 in Kargil.
Corona count in Ladakh has gone up to 27279.
Of them, 26383 have been treated while there were 226 fatalities—167 in Leh and 59 in Kargil district.
Meaniwhile, Kashmir today reported 228 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Two deaths were also reported from Kashmir today taking the death toll in J&K to 4,741 including 2421 from Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 89 from Srinagar, 29 from Baramulla, 32 from Budgam, 12 from Pulwama, 26 from Kupwara, 7 from Anantnag, 07 from Bandipora, 15 from Ganderbal, 6 from Kulgam and 5 from Shopian.
With fresh cases, the number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 285,897 including 278,970 recoveries and 2,421 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,424 including 4,506 from Kashmir division
With 2,918 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 437,708 which is 97.30 percent of the total cases.
