Two days CME prog concludes

SRINAGAR, Aug 25: Two days Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on “Emergencies and Critical Care in Counter Insurgency/Counter Terrorism Environment” organised at 92 Base Hospital, concluded today.
The programme began with a workshop with hands on experience on emergency medical skills for young medical officers. Speakers from military and civil, including faculty from SKIMS attended the deliberations.
The CME was organized under Continuing Medical Education programme of National Academy of Medical Science, India.
The Countinuing Medical Education was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh, Commander, Chinar Corps.
He also released a Handbook on Emergencies, a CD and souvenir commemorating the occasion.
While speaking, Singh dedicated the initiatives under CME programme to all the brave soldiers, security personnel and personalities from civil fraternity who have laid down their lives contributing towards national security in general and building sustained peace in the Valley in particular.
General Officer offered special reverence for Late Dr Syed Saikh Jalal, the eminent Cardiologist and said that his initiatives and sacrifice will be remembered in the times to come.
This was followed by keynote address by Dr Satish Dharap, Prof of Surgery, LTMMC, Sion, Mumbai.
A large number of young medical officer residents and specialists from the military as well as civil participated in the two day programme. The Programme highlighted the importance of the first responder in successful management of trauma victims.
