Two days camp on ‘Women and Health Education’ concludes

JAMMU, Dec 17: Two days camp organized by Government College of Education, Jammu on the theme “Women and Health Education” concluded today.
The special guest on the occasion was Dr Neelu Sharma, Consultant Gynecologist and obstetrician, Directorate Health Services, Jammu. The chief guest of the programme was Principal of the college Prof (Dr) Kaushal Smotra.
On the valedictory session, the students shared their experience and provided feedback about the two day camp.
Prof Anju Bala, Dean Student Welfare and the Organizing team of the camp headed by Prof (Dr) Sindhu Kapoor, Organizing Secretary, Prof Babulal Thakur and Prof (Dr) Piyali Arora were also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, an interactive session on Yoga and Women Health was conducted by Sushma Gupta, leading yoga expert from Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan wherein student learnt about various forms of ‘Yog asanas’.
In the second technical session, Prof (Dr) Piyali Arora from Department of Psychology, GCOE, Jammu spoke about ‘Mental Health issues and Concerns in Women’. She also clarified various queries by the participants.
The third session was devoted to the Gynecological Disorder and Solution, resource person being, Dr Neelu Sharma. Her lecture was followed by interaction and personalized counseling with the participants.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof (Dr) Sindhu Kapoor.
Earlier, on the first day of the camp, resource person was Dr OP Vidyarthi, Director Environment Ecology and Remote Sensing.
During the day a plantation drive, a lecture on Ayurvedic Plants and visit to medicinal and botanical garden of IIIM Jammu was also organized.
