JAMMU, Mar 19: The two day annual book fair-2014 was organized by State Institute of Education Jammu in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Jammu in the premises of SRML Higher Secondary School on 18th & 19th of March 2014.
The book fair was jointly inaugurated by Tushar Kanti Sharma, Director School Education Jammu and R.A Inquilabi, Special secretary School Education Department. In all forty one publishers /Book sellers ( 24 from Jammu,11 from Kashmir and 06 from outside the State ) participated in the book fair and established their stalls exhibiting various subject specific and general books.
The different panels of subject experts for selecting various subject specific and general books were framed and accordingly the subject experts selected the subject specific and general books with quality and good content.
All the committee members were already directed to go through the books thoroughly and ensure that no book having any type of controversial material is recommended for selection.
Dr. Renu Goswami Secretary J&K BOSE, HR Pakhroo Joint Director (Trgs.)/Principal SIE Jammu, Ajay Gupta Chief Accounts Officer DSEJ, Saif Ali Chauhan Joint Director School Education, Prem Singh Chib Personnel Officer Directorate of School Education Jammu and Jagdish Singh Manhas Principal SRML HSS Jammu were also present on the inaugural function of the event.
Hirdesh Kumar Singh, Secretary School Education Department visited the various stalls established by the book sellers/publishers on the concluding day of the event and interacted with them about the various books both general and subject specific being displayed by them in the exhibition.
Ajmer Singh Manhas & Suresh Kr. Gouria Research Officers SIE Jammu provided the logistic support for the organization of the event.
