JAMMU, Nov 5: Two persons including a 36-year-old woman died of Coronavirus in Jammu region while Leh district in the Union Territory of Ladakh reported three COVID fatalities today. As many as 185 positive cases were reported from Jammu region and 112 in Ladakh.
A 36-year-old woman hailing from village Neel in Ramban district, who was co-morbid and positive for COVID-19 died in PGI Chandigarh where she was admitted for past eight days.
A 65-year-old man from Sunjwan in Jammu district died of ailments and Coronavirus in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu after remaining hospitalized for 17 days.
Among three Corona fatalities reported in Leh district, one was a 90-year-old male from Choglamsar, a 67-year-old woman from Skurbuchan and 43-year-old man from Jammu, who was working in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Of 185 COVID positive cases in Jammu region, 99 were reported in Jammu district.
Four police personnel tested positive for the virus in Police Post Panjtirthi and one at Security Headquarters Sidhra while 10 persons reported positive at Main Stop Janipur, two at Gole Market Gandhi Nagar and one each at Sabzi Mandi Parade, Nai Basti and Rajinder Bazaar.
In rural areas, 16 persons tested positive in Akhnoor, eight RS Pura, four each Kot Bhalwal and Pallanwalla, three each at Bishnah, Dansal and Marh and two at Sohanjana.
In other districts of Jammu region, 19 positive cases were reported from Kishtwar, 11 Ramban, 10 each Doda and Kathua, nine each Rajouri, Reasi and Udhampur, five Poonch and four in Samba district.
Among 174 persons who recovered from the virus today, 108 belonged to Jammu district, 24 Poonch, 14 Kathua, 13 Samba, eight Udhampur, four Doda and three in Rajouri district. No recoveries were reported from Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi districts today.
Jammu region now has 38660 Corona cases. Among them, 1624 are active positives while 36524 have recovered from the virus and there have been 512 fatalities in the region.
Among 512 casualties, 265 have been reported from Jammu district followed by 48 each Rajouri and Doda, 32 each Udhampur and Kathua, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 17 Ramban, 15 Kishtwar and eight in Reasi district.
In Ladakh, 112 new Corona cases have been reported including 104 in Leh district and eight in Kargil.
With 112 fresh COVID cases, Ladakh’s Corona count has reached 6553 including 4654 in Leh and 1899 in Kargil district. The Union Territory has 702 active cases—581 in Leh and 121 in Kargil while 5772 persons have recovered from the virus-4031 in Leh and 1740 in Kargil district.
With three Corona casualties today, the UT’s death toll has reached 79 including 41 in Leh and 38 in Kargil district.
Of active positives, 72 persons have been admitted in COVID Hospitals of Ladakh, 564 were in home isolation, 26 in COVID Care Centres and 34 in Facility Isolation.
